Mojang - Doing things right for once!

Mojang recently released the new Minecraft 1.7 snapshot and I have to admit, it looks incredible.

New Biomes

I am soooooooo excited for new biomes! There hasn't been a new one since the addition of Jungles I believe. I love when new biomes are added, because it leaves so much more to explore! There isn't just one, but multiple new biomes. Only a small handful have been confirmed, but some new ones were leaked but not 100% confirmed. Like I did in the 1.3 update, I'll keep you people updated here (sorry if the images suck).

The Mesa (Disco Mountains, Clay Canyon):

I am super stoked for these; they look incredible. Also, free stained clay!

The Redwood Forest:
Image
I'm also really excited for these biomes, they're something I've always wanted in MC.

The Roofed Forest (Black Forest):
Image
I think these are pretty cool, I like that they're making more detailed trees. It'll be dark enough that hostiles can spawn, so that'll be interesting.

Birch Forest:
Image
They're forests with only birch trees. Kinda lame.

The Savannah:
Image
The Savannah looks soooo cool. I'm really hoping this will lead to some cooler animals, i.e. Lions and Zebras (kmarting).

Flower Forest:
Image
I think these are cool, especially because new flowers are something I've wanted for a while.

Ice Plain Spikes:
Image
I think these are cool. 'nuff said.

Fishing Mechanics:

They're updating the fishing system in 1.7, which is awesome. If you want to know how fishing itself is updated, look it up. lol. Now, you are able to catch many different things with fishing rods, including but not limited to enchanted fishing rods, broken fishing rods, boots, nametag, and lilypads. And of course, NEW FISH!!! (i'm probably the only person to ever be excited about fish.)

Pufferfish:
Image
If you eat a Pufferfish, 1 hunger point is healed, and you get Poison IV for a minute, Hunger 3, and Nausea for 15 seconds. Tasty.

Salmon:
Image
I fucking love Salmon. Uncooked, it heals 2 hunger points, and heals 6 cooked.

Clownfish:
Image
NEMO!!!! Only heals 1 hunger bar. But why would you eat this cutie patootie you sick beast? Name it Nemo and hang it on your wall.

New Blocks:

Like with most updates, some new blocks are thrown into the mix. Here are the ones added in 1.7:

Packed Ice (Image is crappy):
Image
Foggier Ice that can't melt. kool.

Podzol:
Image
Podzol spawns in the new redwood forest biome on the ground. I like it.

That's all for now, folks! I'll update this post with the new flowers tomorrow.

i think mojang and the guy who did the twlight forest mod worked together on this eventual project cause a few of these remind me of the twlight forest, others remind me of the extra biomes mod as well. but alas its something to look forward to indeed!

I've had a lot of fun so far exploring the new biomes in the AMPLIFIED setting in the pre-release. Tres cool.

Here are some pics I took: http://imgur.com/a/uvY86#0
